DIY kiddie shoe rack

I loved this shoe showcase post here. So I decided to tweak it a little bit to create a shoe rack for Llittle Miss J's shoes.

I picked up a couple of boxes in which our A4 paper arrives at work.

I cut the edges off the lid to create a "shelf".

I painted the box black. Excuse the shoddy look in the photo - I did touch it up later! I hot glued one box on top of the other.

I covered up the edges with some tissue paper flowers and a piece of felt.

And ta da - I'm so proud of this - it turned out great!

  1. You just gave me an idea for the living room. My son always takes off his shoes as soon as he enters the front door. I have the perfect shoe organizer already, not being used in his room.

  13. Hi NJ

What a great, practical idea. I love it when I see DIY organizers. I was searching for ideas for DIY shoe racks the other day and came across those made from architectural plaster molding, wooden pallets, drain pipes (weird!) and wall mounted magazine racks. My personal favorite was just to makeover an old bookshelf which would be a bit stronger for adult shoes, but these cardboard ones are great for kids shoes. I might get my son to help me make one for his shoes - he loves making a mess with glue and paint!
